Bathroom lights

Does anyone know how to remove the light fittings in the bathrooms?

We have a white "Robus" globe light on the ceiling of our bathroom. The bulb has blown but I cant get the fitting off to replace it. I had assumed it screws off but it doesn't budge. I thought it might be some sort of bayonet fitting, but all my jiggling doesn't get it to move either.

Can anyone help?

They are screw domes (I've replaced the bulbs in mine), just try a bit more force - they're quite sturdy!

Yeah, I finally got the bugger open. I found the trick was that the dome moves seperately from the base. I had been trying to turn the whole thing.

I was a bit surprise that the "long life" bulb inside had burned out after only a year and a half though.
