Question Unfinished outside

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows what the story is with the carpark and outside facing M50? Been here nearly 5yrs now and about 2yrs ago did contact the old management company. They told me it would be finished when they finished building (was a plan for 4th block). Given that it is unlikely that they are going to be continuing to build surely they should tidy up the place and make it more presentable! Thankfully I dont look out that side

Should we start a campaign to get place tidied up?

I look onto the waste ground (unfortunately), it's a complete eye sore. No idea what will be happening with it but I agree, something should be done to make it more presentable if they are not going to be building on it. The only nice thing about the waste ground is the brown hare that has been there for years (no idea what it's surviving on!)

Unfortunately this is a problem shared by many developments up and down the country. In fact we should be grateful that they hadn't started building this block and pulled the plug midstream leaving a shell, like so many other unfinished estates.

This has been brought up with Harcourt before. Their line is that they intend to use the area for development so have no intention of cleaning it up. While it's a nuisance, I'd prefer not to have to pay more management fee for ongoing maintenance, like we do for the other common areas. It irritates me how poorly the Academy courtyard is maintained compared to the Crescent garden, although with all the ball playing that goes on down there, I doubt any flowers would survive long.

At least they have started to repair the damaged and eroded joints between the wall panels facing the empty site. They had looked terrible.

Harcourt\Airscape would not be able to charge any improvement works for the waste ground to the the management fee. As that is an in-development site, it can only be covered by construction costs.

It would be in their interests to do a quick clean on it with maybe some grass added. Simply because it will make selling the remaining units in the Academy & Concert easier to sell.

I don't think they want to sell those units tbh. The money they're making off management fees is not something I can see them giving up easily.

Strictly speaking, and legally speaking Airscape make only a set amount on fee's every year. I remember a few years back it was about 30k for the Crescent Building, but will be different for the other buildings and will have changed for the Crescent too with the new Management Agent (MDPM).

If they are making any more money than that fee from it, it would have to be thru illicit or illegal means to be honest. Maybe overpaying service providers owned by them or whatever. Not that I am saying that is what they are doing! To be honest MDPM has made savings for the Crescent Building simply by being better at the job and negotiating contacts properly with different suppliers.

I am overlooking the waste ground beside the train station. It is an absolute disgrace the state the builders left it in. I spoke to the management company about what their plans are for it. They said that as there is no money to build on it, it will stay the way it is until their circumstances change. I asked if grass could be put down but she said that would cost money. I asked could it at least be cleared, she said no.
Wouldn't it be great if it could be divided into plots for us and we can plant whatever we want out there, at least then we could have a bit of garden for ourselves, it would be maintained and it would look better

How much can it cost just to clear it? Can't cost much to be fair!

Maybe it could be community project to tidy up that side if harcourt give us permission. Its awful to just have timber surrounds on that side of building too. I thought it was part of planning permission that these things had to be left presentable, we have been living with a half finished car park for 5 yrs.
