If we could get these to open in Adamstown Central we'd be laughing, and it would really put us on the map!
El Bulli
The Fat Duck
Pierre Gagnaire
The French Laundry
Tetsuya's
Bras
Mugaritz
Le Louis XV
Per Se
Arzak
We may not necessarily be stuffed coming out of these places but we would most certainly know what heaven tastes like!
Little Cesars! I love that place.

I went to a McDonalds in Sydney (or was it London!) where you can sit down and eat your food off a proper plate with a proper set of Cuttlery. I think this puts said eatin house into the catagory of "Restaurant" and I demand it be recognised as such. (and placed in the Proper "Restaurant Poll")
Chow down :)

Can we pleeeease add Indian !
Followed by a good chipper ! and italian
Also if we could get a "proper" thai - not like the franchise lemongrass or those so called chinese / thai restaurants. Siam Thai or Chilli club!.
Forget the Chinese - there are too many chinese's in Lucan and its crap food anyway

Speaking of Thai, I hear that Diep Noodle are opening in Blackrock. IT WOULD BE SWEET if they'd do the same in Adamstown!
Also with regard to eating McDonalds with a knife and fork: You can put anything in your mouth with a fork - That does not make it food.

Love the idea of a cafe bar deli style restaurant or something like Saba. Would prefere if we didn't attract large chains that offer average food. Want something fabulous, that i look forward to going to on a saturday night. Does anyone know how many restaurants will be in Adamstown Central.Cant wait for nice food!!!

Hi, I'm not sure if any of you have ever been in the Douglas & Kaldi in Ashtown. It's lovely, great spot to meet up with friends for breakfast, lunch & dinner or just have a coffee and a read if the paper. And what do we get in Adamstown? Pizza Max, there was obviously no poll done prior to the opening of that place.

Umm.. This poll was done 2008, well before the pizzeria opened. Personally, I'd have preferred a cafe with a bakery.

Not sure how that helps. Perhaps putting it to Castlethorn that they could solicit views on what residents are interested in might help?
Getting cranky on here hasn't helped a single soul so far.

im assuming you are refering to me?
who in there right mind would put a restaurant of any standing in Adamstown?
NO ONE.
All we can expect are poxy fast food outlets, deal with it.
the sooner everyone realizes Adamstown is being left behind,THE BETTER, they havent fulfilled there phased amenities which have been promissed, WHAT ARE SDCC DOING ABOUT IT?
NOTHING.
In hindsight, I wouldnt have bought here and i dont think many others would either.
Before the onslaught of verbals, im just being honest, i wish it wasnt so.

Whoo ... Easy tiger. I gave a preference of what I liked to have seen here. End of story. Sorry that you're not happy about things, but that in reality is not my problem nor fault. Want to be angry, feel free, but please don't piss down my neck because of it.
There is absolutely zero point in continuing building anywhere in this country at the moment. Not with 300 thousand empty homes. It's not just here, it's everywhere, so instead of taking your frustration out over others, lighten up and do what you can of things instead, please?

A Cafe Bar Deli would be fab, Diep Noodle is amazing too! Great move away from the 'take away', too many around, a proper restaurant would really be a plus. Always great to walk over to Finnstown for a bite n a glass of vino! So near. Sushi just another thought?!

Have to say I am happy with Pizza Max ...
As for Restaurants, theres there Chinese beside the Lord Lucan which I think is nice .... Kasturi in Lucan Village which provides a nice walk back to work off the calories ....
Also in the village is La Banca....
Finnstown House also ...
Not sure how many restaurants people expect ....

First of all Im not a Tiger, and I'M not pissing down your neck nor angry, and at no stage did I suggest that is was your problem or fault, pray tell where you got this information from?
Secondly Im entitled to express my opinion as are you, the fact of the matter is my Opinion is reality, whether you like it or not. Adamstown is a Joke,we where sold a pack of lies and we fell hook line and sinker for it. As things stand Adamstown is slowly but surely turning into a nightmare. And before you all start the verbals I have no problem with the people just the powers that be,and painting over the cracks just isnt my style.

Yes " I have been there great spot and works really well",It has a great view beside the canal and the real focal point of the small village ,there it really is the hub of the village.
At the moment in would not work in Adamstown them placements of the shops are at the back of Adamstown facing onto the Railway Track with very little else to view. They are also not enough units in Adamstown compared to 3/4000 apartments situated at Ashtown Station. With the Paddocks being cut away from the rest of Adamstown we are left with a smaller unit capacity again.
Leyla had made a good point the Phasing here is a complete joke no one appears to know what to do here ,it has turned from a Dream into a Massive Fabricated Lie with Sdcc turning its back to Adamstown.
" I've also read recently 24 empty affordable units are to handed over to Social units" divided between 3 developements in the South-West area with Adamstown being one of them..........Nice lets dump everything into Adamstown.........Adamstown?.........Yeah you know the Little Boys giant Lego Dream in the Celtic Years where artistic and creative minds went from the back street pubs to sipping champagne and talking absolute tripe on an imported sanded beach in Dubai.
People need to stop defending and supporting Castlethorn as they are not interested in anyone but themselves ,the acres of barren fenced land speaks volumes we have the land but not the amenties ,some playing fields maybe a supermarket or even a peoples market could be a start instead of wasting away countless years waiting for Phasing that will be lost in most peoples minds in the next 10 years .Of Course this needs money and Castlethorn are not in the business of giving money out but taken it as we well know.
