So I chose a J1 type 3 bed duplex. I know the floor area is smaller than the b-style duplexes, but I preferred the layout overall. It was a good price and although 18 months away, this suits my timeframe for getting everything together.

Hi
I bought 4 bed without garage. I think they are better than 4 bed with garage because your kitchen is atleast on ground floor and you can use your back space much easier.

I also bought an A1 type for 340k
Can you say what did you paid for yours?
Did you find it hard to choose between the E1, J3 & A1 types all at 340k price! ( E1 +5k per extra floor)

Hi Guys,
It would be a great help if everyone posted the price the paid for each type so that we can compare notes.
I paid 340k for an A1 type 2 bed duplex.

By the time I got to Adamstown, there was only a choice of types A, E and A3. They were all around the same price range 340k to 345k, which I thought was a bit strange since the A3 (c. 1108sqft) was a three bed duplex and the A was a two bed duplex (c.990sqft).
I thought the J3 was gorgeous (a real batchelors pad or real chic for the girls!)

The J3 was well nice! if it had a third bedroom then i would have wanted it!
I paid 375k for the J1 3-bed duplex.

Hi,
For anyone that has bought an E type apartment which is 79 sq metres with L shaped floor to ceiling glass, be carefull that you haven't been sold the E1 type which is basically the same layout of apartment with no wrap around L shaped glass windows. This mistake was pointed out to the sales manager Mr Shane Daly on the launch day but he was adament their was no difference bwtween the 2 types, until somebody brought a sales person around to the the blocks to point them out.The Sales Person agreed.
The E type which are visible from Newcastle Road and the E1 are the block to the rear. Both were been sold on the launch date as the same type apartment & price.

I was told that it doesnt have gas connection. Also i think there is no provision for exhaust in the kitchen.
Hey jossy... the sales brochure says that all duplexes have gas fired central heating fitted as standard.
The kitchens fitted if you sign within 21 days consist of fridge freezer, oven/hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer and extractor fan. So if even if you don't sign within the timeframe, they must still make provision for exhaust, even if nothing is hooked up to it.
Check out the floorplan brochure here (http://www.adamstowncastle.ie/), your contract should also make reference to this.

ellybabes,
That is good news, since at the Tyrellstown, none of the above was provided as standard for 370K.
Do you know more about M3 type duplexes? It was not in the plan earlier and was added later. I think for M3 type duplexes (I dont know whether it is right to call it duplex) doesnt have gas fired central heating fitted as standard. When we went to the sales people they told me that it is electric and there is no provision for exhaust.

Sorry jossy, i didn't even realise that the M3 wasn't listed in the floorplan brochure... surely, though, your contracts will need to show what types of heating / energy facilities are provided... have you seen your contract yet?
