Guys, as I noted in another thread, I was broken into overnight last week.

The burglars removed a glass panel (NOT an opening window) from beside my back door, by pulling off the removable seals and pulling the glass out.

Just so you are aware, there is an easy solution to prevent this from happening. On each of your glass panes, drill two holes through the frame on the sides (2 on the left, 2 on the right). Sink a Philips-head screw into each hole, so that it's below the level of the surface and then drill the head off the screw (so that it can't be removed).

A little bit of putty and you're done, they won't be able to get these off unless they break the glass itself, which is likely to cause a lot of noise.

Hi daMuse,

I have a non-window panel at the back of our unit as well. We're in a J ground floor duplex. To the back, we have a door that opens onto the patio and a large window that opens out. Under the window, is a glass panel.
Good tip ellybabes.

Thanks Ellybabes... any chance of getting a picture so I know what I'm looking for on my doors, so I can do the same?
