If so, firstly, congratulations!! :congrats2: Bet you thought this day would never arrive!

Secondly, now that people are getting into Adamstown we really want to try and make them aware of the existence of this forum and get more people on here.

Ciaran has arranged for a bunch of advertising leaflets to be printed up and I want to try and get these delivered around to the apartments/duplexes that people are moving into - but I need help from someone that's already in there to identify what dwellings I should be targeting!

I'm not asking for anyone to deliver these leaflets, although if they would like to help then that would be great!!

If you would be able to spare me a few mins on the phone or in person, then please PM me and I'll get in touch....

Hi Elly - I'm happy to help out. As far as I can see there is less than 10 occupied so far. I have been mentioning the site to those I've met. I can do a leaflet drop. BTW, nothing came of the Echo piece.

I wondered what happened with the Echo - I grabbed a copy when I got back from America and was stunned to see that there was nothing in it!!

Nice one on the leaflet help, I'll print them off in the next few weeks, and there's a few of us to go out and do it later this month (hopign more people will be in by then). Maybe we can head out and grab a pint in the Lord Lucan after that.

My friend checked with few people who moved in and they were quiet happy with the build quality.

They even said "lost 280 euro" spend for snagging !

Hi bigwill

I went to the evening in Adamstown on Wednesday because a lady in Gunne said that we would be able to obtain dates for snagging there. They had a big list of what seemed like every house - I'm on the walk and its now the end of October (as opposed to end of sept). You should ring again and if they can't tell speak to the castlethorn representative again.

The delay is such a pain - especially as interest rates are on the up...

i bought on castlegate way and was originally told it would be ready in may/june. then july, then august, then september, then early october and today the third week in october, our baby was due 2 days ago so the waiting/false promises is really a pain, my home is as it was in february (complete). now i see people in my street have snagged, does anybody know what is going on at castlegate way, cos i certainly dont.

Hi We are in the Grove, got the keys on Friday, moved on Saturday... couldn't figure out how to work out the heating..... foreman came this morning, I'm an expert now, so if any of you move during a week end and the builders are not there to explain... Just let me know!:chirop:
Good luck to all the ones that are waiting... hopefully I'll see you there soon.

We also bought on Castlegate Way and were given numerous dates to expect to snag, every one of them delayed for one reason or another. In August the reason was more balcony work had to be completed and we were assured we would be ready to snag when it was finished, The scaffolding came down and then we were told that we couldn't snag until the communal stairway was ready, all this when we hadn't even seen our property. As per advice I received, I told Castlethorn that the stairway is the responsibility of the management company to get ready, that is what we are paying our fee for, and we were then allowed to snag last Monday. I only hope we do not have to go through all the delays again before we can move in.

i dont understand how its took so long to build, why dont they get more snaggers on the job cos it seems most place are ready for snagging and thats the only hold up, i think gunne are a mickey mouse company, if i was told in feb it would be ready in october i could of made arrangements. being an estate agent im sure they are aware that houses are rented for 6/12 months and mine was out in september so im paying rent until feb even if i move in today.

Hi,

Just found this forum and have to say it's a great idea, fantastic posts so far, thanx all.

I have bought a 3 bed duplex in Castlegate Green. Does anyone know when these are ready for snagging (or more correctly, has anyone who purchased here had snagging yet). Gunne are being their usual helpful selves in fobbing me off :banging: . Because one can't enter the area at the moment due to building, I have passed down through finnstown hotel and it looks to be finished on the exterior.

Anyway, I think this forum is a good idea (very helpful info on snagging as well - thanx), and will be a helpful posting place for all residents interested in making our new homes, and area, a great place to live.

I have just contacted Gunne (again :hammer: ). The property I have purchased is a B3 3 Bed Mid-Terrace Duplex in Castlegate Green. I have been informed (now) that snagging will be ready for week commencing 11th December, and move-in date is penned as 15th January.

Just thought I'd share the heads-up.

Hi,
Thanks for the info on castlegate green. i went to the show house yesterday 25th oct,06 and i was shown a list of all snaging dates. ours is a 3 bed mid terrace H type house in castlegate green. we were given 13th of november to snag and 11th december to close or complete sale.

Still, im keeping my fingers and toes crossed, until the date comes b4 i can say YESSSS !!

Let's keep the faith.

PS: Did anyone have any idea if completion date can be postponed by the builders just in case the house we are selling is not yet closed by then. any possibility of respite? please advise...

Talk to your solicitor about stalling things at completion if necessary. They have delayed you long enough at this stage so don't be shy about returning the compliment if necessary.

Hi BigBill,

I'm also in Castlegate green, I called Gunne 2 days back and was told that my 2-bed duplex would be snagged in the week commencing 13th Nov and would be closed in the week 11th Dec. Nov 13th is not too far, but did not get any letter so far from Castlethorn or Gunne. So fingers crossed:(

Hi all

We've bought in Castlegate Chase and have just been told that we're not on snag list for the next two weeks. Looks like we won't be in for Christmas. Really disappointed as Gunne told us last week that we were getting snagging letter this week. Has anyone from the Chase got their snagging letter?

I am also in the chase and I was also told today that we will be snagging in 2 weeks time. Did you get a reason for the delay?

We will wait and see if that actually happens! We definely will not be in before Christmas at this stage.

Just recently been told that snagging for us will be end of January. That's after hearing end of October, beginning November and so on. If things get delayed for us longer then end of January, our mortgage application may expire on us before we can complete. Having waited since launch day until now, seeing all these delays, I'm starting to get fed up with Castlethorn. :blah:

We'd love to be able to move in, but if we get delayed past the expiration of our mortgage application, we may not be able to borrow enough money for us to be able to complete, which I'd *HATE* to see.... :banging:

Anyone living in the area having any info on how the Green looks? I've been up having a bit of a look myself, but can't see much of our place, since we got the top floors (3 bed duplex) ...

im on the chase and pushing to get my keys for this friday. you just have to keep harrasing everyone involved to move on things. but castlethorn are disasterous. if i was in my house in september like they told me the day i purchased, i would probably be paying 150 quid less a month on my mortgage. thats a lot of money when added up over 2 years.
