Ok people Im throwing this out to the floor people. In light of the growing public frustration in the current political and economic climate should political candidates be allowed to post prior to the Local and European Elections.
Are these message simply spam or does a person have an entitlmeant to air their rights to candidacy in this open and public forum.
Comments?

A couple of things.
A/ Freedom of speech. One cannot simply deny people the right to say that they are standing for elections and those are the topics they are going to pursue.
B/ I'd actually invite politicians to pop their heads in here. It would give us an even better means to discuss things with them and ask them questions.
Currently votes here seem to indicate politicians have the same right as anyone else to air their thoughts. If the public then disagrees with them, have you then not gained a valuable way to put forward your dismay?
Slightly confusing poll - thread says "should political candidates be banned from Neigbours.ie prior to elections in June" and the poll title is "Should candidates in Election 2009 be allowed to post prior to election day"
So people could be saying yes to either.

I think it is hard time that people should take more interest in politics. Look at how bad the country's situiation is. People (from all walks of life) should go out and vote and express their views. I cant find any problem with politicians who care about Lucan/Adamstown and the people living here expressing their views at neighbours.ie...Let us hear what they can do for the society...
Note:
The poll question is a bit confusing
